Clergy
Membership is open to all bishops and priests who:
believe that the churches of the Anglican Communion are part of the one holy and catholic and apostolic church;
are in communion with the Archbishop of Canterbury;
believe that as a witness to the universal nature of the priesthood of Christ the church should ordain to serve as deacons, priests and bishops in the church of God all those whom the church discerns as being called by God to such offices regardless of ethnicity, gender, disability or sexual orientation;
believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist;
use and practise the seven sacraments
Distinctive Deacons are admitted as Deacon Members with full constitutional rights and Transitional Deacons join local chapters by custom in their deacon’s year.
Contact your local chapter or the Membership Secretary Danny Pegg to join SCP.
Ordinands’ Online Chapter
The St Catherine Chapter meets online to pray, share, ask deeper questions and take encouragement from one another.
Our Online Chapter is for ordinands currently in training, who are in sympathy with the principles of the Society of Catholic Priests and aspire to membership following ordination.
Those living under priestly orders experience both the joy and privilege of ordained ministry and also the sacrifice that ordination brings. Membership of the SCP offers collegiality, encouragement and support in the face of such conditions.
Aspirants are encouraged to adopt the rule of life of the Society, that is:
Eucharistic centred spirituality
to say the Daily Office
to consult a Spiritual Director
to pray for their fellow members of Society
to use the sacrament of reconciliation
to offer confidential pastoral care to fellow members
to attend all meetings of their group unless prevented by good reason
Our Chapter now exists for those in both residential and non-residential colleges across the European Province. If your college does not already have a group, then why not consider setting one up, or becoming part of our online chapter? You can do so with the help of the Vice Rector for Formation, Fr Tom Meyrick, or by contacting our Vocations Officer Mother Samantha Martell.
The Company of Servers
Those who serve at the altar share in what is offered at the altar" 1 Cor.9.13
The Company of Servers was formed for all who are servers in the Anglican Communion.
Membership is open to all ages, from the youngest, newest server, to those who have dedicated many years service. Members are known as Companions and become part of a national and international community of friendship, teaching, learning and support.
The Company of Servers hopes to raise not only an understanding of the hows and whys of serving but also encourage those who serve already to continue and feel valued. Through raising awareness of the ministry of those who serve at the altar it is hoped that others will begin to explore this essential role in the service of God and his Church.
